Stupid Netbook

(back on january 4th...i was writing this vent about my stupid netbook, which i'm typing on right now, wasn't then because it was past dead...doug told me to wait until he got it working to post about this...so...lo and behold, he did it!  i honestly did NOT think that it would ever "work" again...and towards the end of his efforts, he was starting to wonder himself...so, without further ado...my ramblings:)

*Stupid netbook: a stupid decision I made...I should have gone with the iPad...I was going to try to sell the stupid thing to some poor soul who wouldn't find it so stupid...but he insists that he can make it work to my liking.  Thus far, I still think it's stupid.  I still prefer his laptop or the desktop.  He offers to trade his laptop for my stupid netbook.  I say no because I'd feel guilty since he'd have the worse deal.  He asks why I'm not using my computer.  I look at him with the "because-it's-beyond-stupid" look, because I don't want to tell him I hate it anymore, because I know it frustrates him that I hate it.  Because it was a stupid decision.  And it's all my decision...he just let me buy it because he's nice like that.  Because I was all sure that this was a good one.

So, now he's been working on his latest idea to make it not-stupid...except he's getting beyond frustrated.  With the stupid machine.  Give him a few more hours and he might agree with me that it was a stupid purchase.  Have you gotten that I think it's a stupid computer?  Even though it has all the bells and whistles that the stupid thing can have?  And even though it's a good red?

It's offensive to red.

It's an embarrassment to red.

No netbook ought to be allowed to be red.

And that's how I feel about netbooks.

Just buy the iPad.

Or a laptop.

Don't think, "It's small...it'll be easier for traveling...it won't bother my wrists to move around with it...it'll be good for what I need."

Don't believe yourself when you think such things.

Stupid thing.

p.s.  update on 14 january...this stupid thing is up and running.  i have showed him how it performs.  he is completely on my side now that it's a stupid netbook.  but, seeing as how he spent so much time getting it alive again, and is now a professional in all things netbookish, i need to get usage out of it.  so i will use it.  but it gets to live with it's nickname of "Stupid Netbook".  because it's what it is.  stupid.  but.  doug did it.  i didn't believe it would happen.  i ought not have doubted his stubborn determination to outwit this stupid little machine...nor his brain for making things work.  that's all about this now.  and, if truth be told, i guess it's still okay to take traveling with me.  because, really, when i'm traveling, i don't have much time to be messing around on this stupid thing, so it'll be fine.

but it's still a stupid netbook.

don't buy one...

I HATE netbooks. Hate them. I never bought one. But I bought a laptop. It broke. Not my fault. My friend lent me her/his (married friends) netbook til I could fix mine. I hated it. Bought a cheap ass laptop so I could quit using it. Cheap ass laptop quit working. Had to go back to using netbook. Hate it. Decided to buy desktop computer because laptops hate me and I hate re-buying them. Store lied about having computers. Meg loaned me her desktop. I'd rather use old ass desktop then stupid netbook. Hate it. At this point I literally don't use it. It sits in the kitchen so I can open it up to look at a recipe, or it sits around until my neighbor uses it cause she has no computer at all.

Also - I probably wouldn't buy a tablet. The only one I'd be impressed with is an iPad, and those are so damn expensive that I'd rather buy a real computer. I wanted a Kindle Fire, but seriously.. just buy a computer. If you travel a lot.. Kindle Fire or B&N Nook. Books and apps.

Seriously hate netbooks. Pointless little things.

Sorry for my comment novel of hatred.
