I just had a mom moment.
I believe in tender mercies from above...and I am particularly grateful when I notice one I'm given out of the blue.
I was just wiping the windows on one of the doors from the living room to the patio...and I happened to look in the backyard and saw my pinwheel spinning.
I was just wiping the windows on one of the doors from the living room to the patio...and I happened to look in the backyard and saw my pinwheel spinning.
I stopped and watched it stop and start.
It's not always windy here like it was in Rawlins, so my pinwheel usually just stands there.
It was one of the first things I did when we moved here. Seriously, probably before I even brought in the pillows...the pinwheel goes in the ground...and I do not know why pinwheels are one of the things that are a tie to my mom...Memorial Day? One of the cheap extras she could put in the grocery cart for us every once in awhile when I was little? The faint memory of her teaching me how to blow on it to make it go...
Don't quite know.
It's one of those things.
Like when I see a diamond sparkle, and I recall her saying that when your diamond ring sparkles it's your sweetheart saying that he loves you...
A mom moment.
She'd probably roll her eyes because she was trying to make it a moment between her daughters and their sweethearts, and while it is that, it's also a tie to my mom.
So I stood there for awhile.
Smiled.
Knew without a doubt that I am loved by my mom.
Finished wiping the windows then went outside and took a picture.
Of my pinwheel.
It's the small moments that make life grand.
