Today has been a day...highs and lows...
Lows in that buttons were pushed and I'm tired of those buttons being pushed...and I came uncorked a little.
Then, there was some smoothing over.
And doing my clearance walk around Target...cuz I haven't done that for a long time.
I skip out on the trunk or treat at church...cuz although the little kiddos are cute...I just am not into trunk or treats. At all. So, I stayed home and we were just getting into 'Survivor' when Doug angled his laptop towards me and I looked and saw a list and said, "Did we get it?"
(there was this closed bid sale...we were unsure what to bid...i finally said: the girls' birthdays...he said: put it down...and...)
WE GOT IT!!!
If you even slightly know my husband, you know that his heart is in Alaska.
And now, we have a piece of Alaska.
Lots of work in the years ahead, but that's okay.
Lots of compromises in the years ahead, we'll make that okay.
I'll be starting my list of things to acquire...he'll be planning trips to putter around on our land until we go there permanently.
We have some sort of building...that may stay, it may come down...who knows...
We have trees and logs and moss and ferns...
A creek flows through it...it's an unnamed creek...I will be naming it, even if it's not official, it'll be official for me...so if you have suggestions, leave it in the comments area...otherwise, it'll probably be named Augustus Lorenzo...
Just Alaska. Our piece of Alaska.
I told him it would happen.
I told him so.
