So I ordered myself a Ninja blender.
Had some Kohl's bucks...had a Kohl's 20% code, and it was free shipping...and I need a blender...so, after a long time of looking at blenders...reading reviews, etc., I went ahead and ordered it.
And then, like the nervous Nellie that I am, it sat in it's box for three days.
Can you believe it?
Anyway. Yesterday, I got it out. Got it ready to use. Read the directions. CAREFULLY cleaned and dried the blades, all the while, knowing if my daughter knew what I was doing, she'd be saying, "Put it down mom! Mom! Put it down!!!"
(i have a talent for cutting myself...seriously, it's a mystery sometimes how i achieve some of my slices...)
...I decided to do the orange/grapefruit/cucumber slushy/juice thing.
Why? I have no idea. Because awhile ago, the big thing was these orange/grapefruit/cucumber infused water things and I tried it and hated that stuff.
I was getting my fruit in the blender and I decided to put in some cilantro and parsley. Because I watched some food video and they had said those things were good for your digestive tract...so, I thought, I don't like these three flavors together, might as well add more stuff. So, after I had everything in, I thought...hey, I have spinach...let's add a handful of those things. Then...I thought, might as well put in some chia seeds and some flax seeds. So I did.
And I blended it all up.
And it blended nicely.
And then I filled up my glass and drank it.
It wasn't good, per say. It wasn't bad.
So I had myself a second glass.
After all, this was my lunch.
I didn't drink the third glass. I put that in the fridge.
Overall, it was a success. Although, next I'll be trying some various berries and perhaps some greek yogurt.
To the left, you'll see my layered ... food.
To the right, you'll see them all pulverized and ready to drink.
